Project Goals
The PiTiVi team wants to develop a short movie to demonstrate PiTiVi. The project goals are threefold:
- Demonstrate PiTiVi's current functionality
- Teach new users how to use PiTiVi
- Serve as a basis developing QA Scenarios
We will make an official version of the movie available on the from the PiTiVi website. Initially, the movie will appear in as a simple rough-cut. As PiTiVi improves, we will release versions demonstrating new features. We will also post the script, storyboard, raw footage, and project file. Finally, project will serve as the basis for a series of tutorials. These will also double as QA scenarios for testing the application.
Submission Guidelines
We will accept submissions in any of the following categories. Pick one the one that best suits your talents.
License
Submissions should be submitted under an open publication license which will allow PiTiVi to redistribute the materials to users free of charge. See http://creativecommons.org/ for some possible licensing options, but be sure to consult with us as well.
Script
We'd like the tutorial to be between 3 and 10 minutes long, so the script should be between 3 and 10 pages long in the Hollywood Screenplay Format (LyX has a nice mode for this). Submit your script as a Plain Text or as a PDF.
We'd like to demonstrate PiTiVi's features, so be creative and try to include transitions, and at least one multiple input effect (an example would be the split screen in the TV series, 24)
Story Board
In addition to a script, we need a story board to assist with editing. Submit your storyboard in either PNG or PDF format. If your idea is simple enough, a storyboard may be all you need.
Footage
At this point we have not yet chosen a script of a story board. However, if you'd like to donate some stock footage, we'd certainly appreciate it.
Where to Submit
- Submit your script as a Plain Text or as a PDF. Send submissions to the PiTiVi Mailing list (pitivi-pitivi@lists.sourceforge.net)
- Upload storyboards to the Wiki and provide a link to it in this section.
- For footage, contact the mailing list (pitivi-pitivi@lists.sourceforge.net), and we will work where you can upload the materials.
